The Last Day of this age

THE LAST DAY IS SPOKEN OF A LOT IN HOLY SCRIPTURE.
IT RELATES TO THE DAY OF THE LORD.
IT IS USHERED IN AS SUNSET FALLS ON THE DAY OF ATONEMENT.

There is to be an epic end-time history at some time up ahead, just when, we do not know. It is the final seven years of this age. In Daniel 9:24-27 the prophet was told that this entire Seventy sevens of years has been determined, cut out of time. It has been established by the God of Israel for dealings with all His covenant people from both houses of Israel. At the terminus of the 70th Week the Great Tribulation will end. The month of Tishrei will open into the ten days of awe. Tishrei 10 will see the unfolding of that ultimate climactic wrap-up Day of Reckoning, Day of Blood Covering, Day of Accounting. This epic future Day of Atonement will bring the 6th feast, or the 6th appointed time, into its New Covenant fulfillment.

This final "Day of Reckoning" or "Day of Accounting" must of necessity be finalized before space-time can be unzipped to reveal Messiah on the Day of the Lord. As a legal matter there can be no execution of God's judgment and wrath upon the wicked or any unfolding of the mystery of the blessed hope with the glorification of the saints which follows the wrath until all the Accounting on that Day of Reckoning is finished.

This blockbuster future Day of Atonement on Tishrei 10 will also see the trumpets of Jubilee blown to bring in the new Millennium of Messiah. As the sun sets on that Day of Atonement the next day, (Tishrei 11), begins. Holy history will then enter into the Day of the Lord also known as the Day of Vengeance or what the Bible calls the great Day of God's Wrath. The final seven years of this age will end spectacularly on this "Last Day".

The 'Last Day' is a window into heavenly time. On an hour and day unknown the of the righteous dead will be raised in the Resurrection. Jesus tells us four times in John 6 that He will be raising His people up inside this 'Last Day'. Yeshua also tells us that the wicked, as tares will be gathered up first (Mat. 13:30). Two men will be working in the field, two woman grinding at the mill, one of them will go up and disappear from view.

The Last Day will begin with the wrath of God upon the wicked. This will be awful beyond telling. Will this awful plucking up of the wicked by evil angels be witnessed by the saints? Oh yes! The Bible speaks about the righteous who are left standing on that day. They "will see see the reward of the wicked". In Psalm 91:8 we read,

"Only with thine eyes will you see the reward of the wicked."

Yes, the righteous living at that awesome moment in holy history will witness the rebels being carried off in that grim harvest of the tares. Jesus in Matthew 13:30 specifically tells us that the tares, (the wicked), will be gathered first. Grim reapers of hideous countenance, evil angels of wrath, will circle and hover over the the reprobates, plucking them off the earth very specifically and personally as raptors pick off their prey. The wicked will go up kicking and screaming, carried away as tares for the fires in this initial awful harvest of the wicked. The image to the left is but an artistic impression of the sheer horror of that moment of truth when these hideous things swoop down and grab them, carrying them off to the place where eagles, vultures, raptors of sheer terror pick at their flesh.

The Day of the Lord will then see the glorification of the righteous. Messiah's single Elect, the living and the dead, will be gathered from the four winds of space-time. Those under the blood of Israel's Sacrifice Lamb, saints from both sides of Calvary, will be raised up on a day and hour unknown in the harpazo-snatch that should be called the Post-Tribulation Resurrection-Rapture. As we mentioned above, Jesus tells us four times in John 6 that He will be raising His people up inside this 'Last Day'.

John 6:39 "This is the will of the Father who sent Me,
that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing,
but should raise it up at the last day."
John 6:40 "And this is the will of Him who sent Me,
that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life;
and I will raise him up at the last day.""

John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him;
and I will raise him up at the last day."
John 6:54 "Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life,
and I will raise him up at the last day."

Is our Lord Jesus trying to get a message to us here? If He saw fit to tell us four times in the one message that He will raise His people up at the "last day" then His Word on the matter should be final. And who would dare tamper with the message the Holy Spirit has so clearly laid out for us in the Holy Scriptures? Jesus tells us that the Resurrection of the righteous dead will occur at the 'last day". Therefore it must come at the end of the 7 year period at the tail end of Daniel's 70th week. And therefore the Resurrection must be a Post-Tribulation event. And the Rapture being bound to the Resurrection in the same "harpazo" - snatch in 1Thessalonians 4:15-17 and in 1Corinthians 15:51-54 must of necessity come after the Great Tribulation.

MARTHA, SISTER OF LAZARUS, WAS A SAINT FROM A FORMER ERA.
SHE KNEW THE TIMING OF THE RESURRECTION.

Here is some further evidence of the Resurrection of the righteous dead coming at the Last Day" at the very end of the age. Martha left her kitchen to come out and get in Jesus' face over the death of her brother Lazarus. At that time she made a strong confession of her faith. She spoke of the sure hope of the Resurrection. And in her statement Martha also spoke in very specific terms of the timing of the Resurrection.

Here is Martha's word on the matter and her magnificent confession of the blessed hope of the glorification of the saints at the resurrection. This account is recorded by the Apostle John. As we see here in this scripture below, Martha knew very well when this end-time Resurrection of the righteous dead would occur.

John 11:24 Martha said to Him,
"I know that he will rise again
in the Resurrection at the last day."

This seems pretty plain and straightforward doesn't it?
All these scriptures and Revelation 20:4-6 are in total agreement.
The Resurrection will come at the last day of this age.

The Old Testament saints, unlike many of us evangelicals today, had a very good handle on the Resurrection of the righteous dead. The testimony of the patriarchs and Daniel bear witness to this. They knew when this Resurrection of the righteous would occur. Job, in the midst of his sufferings brought this magnificent testimony.

Job 19:25-26 (KJV-NKJV)
25 For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body,
yet in my flesh shall I see God:

Job declared that his Redeemer was alive. And in the latter day He would come to stand upon this earth as Messiah and raise him up from death. He also declared that even after worms had burrowed down beneath his skin to destroy his mortal body one day he would rise from the grave to be Resurrected to life in his own new immortal body. Then he would see his God face to face.

Yes, the Resurrection-Rapture will happen at some unknown day and hour inside the Last Day the Day of the Lord. At sunset on the "Last Day" of this present evil age the heavens will be rolled back as a scroll. This awesome future day #2550 as counted out from Day #1, which will have been an epic blockbuster Rosh Hashanah, Feast of Trumpets that will have erupted into history seven years before.

So that final seven year time period is being staked out precisely, to the very day, by the first two of the (yet to be fulfilled) Fall Feasts of Israel! The Feast of Trumpets is up next. In some epic future year this 5th feast will see the sounding of the trumpets of alarm). That upcoming blockbuster event, the confirmation of the seven year peace covenant of Dan.9:27 will initiate the 70th Week of Daniel. Seven years, and 2548 days later on day #2549 comes the final 'Day of Reckoning', the Day of Atonement. The day after this, day #2550, will see space-time rolled back to unveil the opening of the 'Day of the Lord'. Judgment Day will have arrived, the last day of this present age.
