Luke 5:1-11

1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:

10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

in your hearts? Matt 9:4, Mark 2:8, Luke 5:22

For Matt 9:5 whether is Matt 9:5, Mark 2:9, Luke 5:23 it Mark 2:9 easier, to say, Matt 9:5, Mark 2:9, Luke 5:23 to the sick of the palsy, Mark 2:9 Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Matt 9:5, Mark 2:9, Luke 5:23

[Arise, Matt 9:5/ Arise, Mark 2:9 / Rise up Luke 5:23]

and take up thy bed, Mark 2:9 and walk? Matt 9:5, Mark 2:9, Luke 5:23 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power Matt 9:6, Mark 2:10, Luke 5:24

[took up the bed, Mark 2:12 / and took up that whereon he lay, Luke 5:25]

and went forth before them all; Mark 2:12 and departed to his Matt 9:7, Luke 5:25 own Luke 5:25 house, Matt 9:7, Luke 5:25 glorifying God. Luke 5:25 but when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, Matt 9:8

[insomuch that Mark 2:12 / And Luke 5:26]

they were all amazed, Mark 2:12, Luke 5:26 and Matt 9:8, Mark 2:12, Luke 5:26 they Luke 5:26 glorified God, Matt 9:8, Mark 2:12, Luke 5:26 which had given such power unto men. Matt 9:8 and were filled with fear, Luke 5:26 saying, We Mark 2:12, Luke 5:26

for there were many, and they followed him. Mark 2:15 And when the Matt 9:11, Mark 2:16 scribes and Mark 2:16 Pharisees saw Matt 9:11, Mark 2:16

[it, Matt 9:11 / him eat with publicans and sinners, Mark 2:16]

but their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, Luke 5:30

[they said unto his disciples, Matt 9:11, Mark 2:16 / saying, Luke 5:30]

[Why eateth your Master Matt 9:11/ How is it that he eateth and drinketh Mark 2:16 / Why do ye eat and drink Luke 5:30]

with publicans and sinners? Matt 9:11, Mark 2:16, Luke 5:30 But Matt 9:12 when Jesus heard Matt 9:12, Mark 2:17

[that, Matt 9:12 / it, Mark 2:17]

And Jesus answering Luke 5:31

[saying, Matt 9:14 / say unto him, Mark 2:18 / they said unto him, Luke 5:33]

[we Matt 9:14 / the disciples of John Mark 2:18, Luke 5:33]

said unto them, Can Matt 9:15, Mark 2:19, Luke 5:34 ye make Luke 5:34 the children of the bridechamber Matt 9:15, Mark 2:19, Luke 5:34

[mourn, as long as Matt 9:15 / fast, while Mark 2:19, Luke 5:34]

the bridegroom is with them? Matt 9:15, Mark 2:19, Luke 5:34 As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. Mark 2:19 but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken Matt 9:15, Mark 2:20, Luke 5:35 away Mark 2:20, Luke 5:35 from them, and then shall they fast Matt 9:15, Mark 2:20, Luke 5:35 in those days. Mark 2:20, Luke 5:35 And he spake also a parable unto them; Luke 5:36 No man Matt 9:16, Mark 2:21, Luke 5:36

[putteth Matt 9:16, Luke 5:36 / also seweth Mark 2:21]

a piece of new Matt 9:16, Mark 2:21, Luke 5:36

[cloth unto Matt 9:16 / cloth on Mark 2:21 / garment upon Luke 5:36]

an old Matt 9:16, Mark 2:21, Luke 5:36 garment, Matt 9:16, Mark 2:21

[for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, Matt 9:16 / else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, Mark 2:21 / if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old. Luke 5:36]

and the rent is made worse. Matt 9:16, Mark 2:21

[Neither do men put Matt 9:17 / And no man putteth Mark 2:22, Luke 5:37]

new wine into old bottles: else the Matt 9:17, Mark 2:22, Luke 5:37

[bottles break, Matt 9:17 / new wine doth burst the bottles, Mark 2:22 / new wine will burst the bottles, Luke 5:37]

[and the wine runneth out, Matt 9:17 / and the wine is spilled, Mark 2:22 / and be spilled, Luke 5:37]

[and the bottles perish: Matt 9:17 / and the bottles will be marred: Mark 2:22 / and the bottles shall perish. Luke 5:37]

[but they put new wine Matt 9:17 / but new wine must be put Mark 2:22 / But new wine must be put Luke 5:38]

into new bottles, Matt 9:17, Mark 2:22, Luke 5:38 and both are preserved. Matt 9:17, Luke 5:38 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better. Luke 5:39

43.    Returning towards Galilee, the disciples pluck grain on the Sabbath,

And it came to pass Mark 2:23, Luke 6:1 on the second sabbath after the first, Luke 6:1 At Matt 12:1 that Matt 12:1, Mark 2:23, Luke 6:1 time Matt 12:1

[Jesus Matt 12:1 / he Mark 2:23, Luke 6:1]

went Matt 12:1, Mark 2:23, Luke 6:1 on the sabbath day Matt 12:1, Mark 2:23 through the corn Matt 12:1, Mark 2:23, Luke 6:1 fields; Mark 2:23, Luke 6:1 and his disciples Matt 12:1, Mark 2:23, Luke 6:1 were an hungred, and Matt 12:1 began, Matt 12:1, Mark 2:23 as they went, Mark 2:23

[to pluck the ears of corn Matt 12:1, Mark 2:23 / plucked the ears of corn, Luke 6:1]

[and to eat. Matt 12:1 / and did eat, Luke 6:1]

rubbing them in their hands. Luke 6:1 But when the Pharisees saw it, Matt 12:2

[they Matt 12:2 / And the Pharisees Mark 2:24 / And certain of the Pharisees Luke 6:2]

said unto Matt 12:2, Mark 2:24, Luke 6:2

[him, Matt 12:2, Mark 2:24 / them, Luke 6:2]

Behold, Matt 12:2, Mark 2:24 thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. Matt 12:2 Why do Mark 2:24, Luke 6:2

[they Mark 2:24 / ye Luke 6:2]

on the sabbath Mark 2:24, Luke 6:2

[day Mark 2:24 / days Luke 6:2]

that which is not lawful Mark 2:24, Luke 6:2 to do? Luke 6:2

[But Matt 12:3 / And Mark 2:25, Luke 6:3]

[he Matt 12:3, Mark 2:25 / Jesus Luke 6:3]

[said unto them, Matt 12:3, Mark 2:25 / answering them said, Luke 6:3]

Have ye Matt 12:3, Mark 2:25, Luke 6:3

[not Matt 12:3, Luke 6:3 / never Mark 2:25]

read Matt 12:3, Mark 2:25, Luke 6:3 so much as this, Luke 6:3 what David did, when Matt 12:3, Mark 2:25, Luke 6:3

[he Matt 12:3, Mark 2:25 / himself Luke 6:3]

had need, and Mark 2:25 was an hungred, Matt 12:3, Mark 2:25, Luke 6:3 he, Mark 2:25 and they Matt 12:3, Mark 2:25, Luke 6:3

[that Matt 12:3, Mark 2:25 / which Luke 6:3]

were with him; Matt 12:3, Mark 2:25, Luke 6:3 How he Matt 12:4, Mark 2:26, Luke 6:4

[entered Matt 12:4/ went Mark 2:26, Luke 6:4]

into the house of God, Matt 12:4, Mark 2:26, Luke 6:4 in the days of Abiathar the high priest, Mark 2:26 and did Matt 12:4, Mark 2:26, Luke 6:4 take and Luke 6:4 eat the shewbread, Matt 12:4, Mark 2:26, Luke 6:4 and gave also to them Mark 2:26, Luke 6:4

[which Mark 2:26 / that Luke 6:4]

were with him; Mark 2:26, Luke 6:4

[which was not Matt 12:4 / which is not Mark 2:26 / which it is not Luke 6:4]

lawful Matt 12:4, Mark 2:26, Luke 6:4 for him Matt 12:4 to eat, Matt 12:4, Mark 2:26, Luke 6:4 neither for them which were with him, Matt 12:4

[but only for the priests? Matt 12:4 / but for the priests? Mark 2:26 / but for the priests alone? Luke 6:4]

Matthew 12:5-7

5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

And he said unto them, Mark 2:27, Luke 6:5 The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Mark 2:27

[For Matt 12:8 / Therefore Mark 2:28 / That Luke 6:5]

the Son of man is Lord Matt 12:8, Mark 2:28, Luke 6:5

[even Matt 12:8 / also Mark 2:28, Luke 6:5]

of the sabbath Matt 12:8, Mark 2:28, Luke 6:5 day. Matt 12:8

44.    Healing a man’s withered hand on the Sabbath, the Pharisees plot His death with the Herodians,

And Matt 12:9, Mark 3:1, Luke 6:6 it came to pass also on another sabbath, that Luke 6:6 when he was departed thence, Matt 12:9 he Matt 12:9, Mark 3:1, Luke 6:6

[went Matt 12:9 / entered Mark 3:1, Luke 6:6]

again Mark 3:1 into Matt 12:9, Mark 3:1, Luke 6:6

[their Matt 12:9 / the Mark 3:1, Luke 6:6]

synagogue Matt 12:9, Mark 3:1, Luke 6:6 and taught: Luke 6:6 And, Matt 12:10, Mark 3:1, Luke 6:6 behold, Matt 12:10 there was a man Matt 12:10, Mark 3:1, Luke 6:6 there Mark 3:1

[which had his hand withered. Matt 12:10 / which had a withered hand. Mark 3:1 / whose right hand was withered. Luke 6:6]

And Mark 3:2, Luke 6:7

[they Mark 3:2 / the scribes and Pharisees Luke 6:7]

watched him, whether he would heal Mark 3:2, Luke 6:7 him Mark 3:2 on the sabbath day; that they might Mark 3:2, Luke 6:7

[accuse Mark 3:2 / might find an accusation against Luke 6:7]

him. Mark 3:2, Luke 6:7 And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. Matt 12:10 But he knew their thoughts, Luke 6:8

Matthew 12:11-12

11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

[Then saith he to Matt 12:13 / And he saith unto Mark 3:3 / and said to Luke 6:8]

the man Matt 12:13, Mark 3:3, Luke 6:8 which had the withered hand, Mark 3:3, Luke 6:8 Rise up, and Luke 6:8 stand forth Mark 3:3, Luke 6:8 in the midst. And he arose and stood forth. Luke 6:8

[And he saith Mark 3:4 / Then said Jesus Luke 6:9]

unto them Mark 3:4, Luke 6:9 I will ask you one thing; Luke 6:9 Is it lawful Mark 3:4, Luke 6:9 on the sabbath days Mark 3:4, Luke 6:9 to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to Mark 3:4, Luke 6:9

[kill? Mark 3:4 / destroy it? Luke 6:9]

But they held their peace. Mark 3:4

[And when he had looked Mark 3:5 / And looking Luke 6:10]

round about Mark 3:5, Luke 6:10

[on Mark 3:5 / upon Luke 6:10]

them Mark 3:5, Luke 6:10 all Luke 6:10 with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, Mark 3:5 he Mark 3:5, Luke 6:10

[saith Mark 3:5 / said Luke 6:10]

unto the man, Mark 3:5, Luke 6:10 Stretch forth Matt 12:13, Mark 3:5, Luke 6:10

[thine Matt 12:13, Mark 3:5 / thy Luke 6:10]

hand. And he Matt 12:13, Mark 3:5, Luke 6:10

[stretched it forth; Matt 12:13 / stretched it out: Mark 3:5 / did so: Luke 6:10]

and Matt 12:13, Mark 3:5, Luke 6:10

[it Matt 12:13 / his hand Mark 3:5, Luke 6:10]

was restored whole, Matt 12:13, Mark 3:5, Luke 6:10 like Matt 12:13 as the other. Matt 12:13, Mark 3:5, Luke 6:10 And they were filled with madness; Luke 6:11

[Then Matt 12:14 / And Mark 3:6]

the Pharisees went Matt 12:14, Mark 3:6

[out, Matt 12:14 / forth, Mark 3:6]

and Matt 12:14, Mark 3:6, Luke 6:11 straightway Mark 3:6

[held a council Matt 12:14 / took counsel Mark 3:6 / communed one with another Luke 6:11]

with the Herodians Mark 3:6 against him, Matt 12:14, Mark 3:6

[how they might destroy him. Matt 12:14, Mark 3:6 / what they might do to Jesus. Luke 6:11]

45.    He withdraws to the lake and heals many,

But Matt 12:15, Mark 3:7 when Jesus knew it, Matt 12:15

[he Matt 12:15 / Jesus Mark 3:7]

withdrew himself Matt 12:15, Mark 3:7 from thence Matt 12:15 with his disciples to the sea: Mark 3:7

[and great multitudes Matt 12:15 / and a great multitude Mark 3:7]

from Galilee Mark 3:7 followed him, Matt 12:15, Mark 3:7

Mark 3:7-11

7 and from Judaea,

8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

and he healed them all; Matt 12:15 And Matt 12:16, Mark 3:12 he straitly Mark 3:12 charged them that they should not make him known: Matt 12:16, Mark 3:12

Matthew 12:17-21

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
